  • One thread per vehicle.
  • One person can have multiple threads, assuming they are for different builds.
  • Builds do not need to be Jeep or off-road based, but please keep them relevant. EXAMPLE: If your building a 71 Chevelle or a 1965 Honda CB 450, those are relevant.
  • If you are building your pimp ass basement like John did – cool! But not relevant. Do not start a build thread here – try the General Discussion Board.
  • Threads can be technically oriented, but please NO TECH QUESTION Threads, those threads belong in the Technical Discussion Board.

"Threads can be technically oriented, but please NO TECH QUESTION Threads, those threads belong in the Technical Discussion Board."

If the build thread is technically learning/oriented it would be a plus if the members had the opportunity to ask technical questions focused on the build. Maybe it’s just me, but the rule above doesn’t seem to distinguish between asking tech question about the build and asking general tech questions.

All that rule is meant to avoid is threads started only asking for tech questions. Questions asked within a build thread are allowed.

Should that rule be re-worded?

don't start a thread to ask if this is how you do that, but you can obviously ask the same question on page 32 of your build thread.

and

don't start a thread to only show on little step or mod on your rig

right?

I understand the intent of the rule but new forum members could interrupt the rule as written “no tech questions” Just saying.

I believe a mod no matter how small could be a step in the right direction to encourage bigger and better things. IMO, this section would be an ideal place to start.

only my definition, a build would be described as a multi leveled list of modifications performed in succession to show the dynamic change of a vehicle over time to improve it's capability to perform the desired task.

what we are trying to regulate is people posting.. "can I fit 33" tires with 5.5" long arm kit." or "my bumper fluid is low, where do I buy more"

Those belongs in the tech section.

i guess if you do several minor mods on the same rig this would be a great place to keep it all organized

I agree with this. My "build" thread doesn't involve alot of custom fabrication stuff but it's a good way for me to keep all my "mods" organized. And if someone had a question "can I fit 33" on my cherokee" I can just send them to my "build" thread".

I agree as well.  You can discourage someone like me who thinks switching to H4 bulbs on their CJ is a major mod just because guys have super sufisticated, intricate, leave you on the edge of your seat till the next image posts with antisipation, type builds Wink
