I like what you did with those poly mounts on the rci cell.  That ought to keep them from snapping.  Good cushioning.  Well played.  And I could tell you made that rear diff cover but it came out titz.  I like that look.  The tubing is sweet!!
Want to see those bling vents in the hood in one of the next pics Wink

Here is a shot of the 60 front. it is a dually axle, but as suggested, I am just going to machine the hubs down.

And the springs not sure why they didn't work but here are the ones I got from crown

and here are the home made military wrap rears

stock rears and stock main

cut off the small eye and open up the large eye a C-Hair

fit to see if the large eye fits over the small eye

Re drill the center pin hole (the biggest PITA ever) and slap them together. This is just for the picture, I am going to wire wheel them, paint them and I have new friction pads and spring clamps for them.

ETA  Huh

in all reality, going to finish this season wheeling it, gonna look for a beater YJ or XJ, something I can absolutly tool on and not care about, but can wheel while this in on jack stands next year. I still have a lot of parts to buy, aside from linking, I prefer to do it right the first time. next week I plan to start the cage and mounting the seats to the cage and better tie it to the frame. Other than that this year I will pobably get the comp cut done and front fenders taken care of.

fyi, the way you have your fuel cell mounted will only break or tear your cell apart. you need straps around the tank holding it firmly down.  those mounts are actually labeled "not for mounting"  now what the purpose of those mounts are i don't know?  but you need to change it. for real. i speak from experience on this one. i am sure others will chime in. it is a common issue.

pretty cool, i have seen those pics at various times during the time i have known you john. cool to see them all at one time

Is the reasoning behind the "do not mount using the tabs" because of body/frame flex?

I've seen them break off on Pirate as well, however this is how I mounted mine also.  I'm going to add straps eventually, but for now it gets me to work which is fine.

I think it may also have to do with the whole racing part of fuel cell's.  I cant see the tabs holding the cell in during a crash, but a strap probably can.  Mine is just bolted down for now, but will eventually get straps.  I used rubber gromets when I bolted it down so it can flex a little.

I would just put two footman loops on the floor and use a small rachet strap over the top of it.  I have seen this done alot.

yeah, thats a great idea. so when you roll you are praying the straps will hold and fuel will not spill out all over you. Roll Eyes  your advanced knowledge is overwhelming Crap hitting the fan

you guys that have mounted your tanks that way . . . good luck, it will break, and sooner rather than later. i don't know why you would put al this time and effort into putting in a fuel cell and not mount it the way it should be mounted.  its the same as using ratchet straps to hold you battery in. just plain dumb

Add the weight of 15 gals of fuel and a jeep bouncing around on rocks, does not look good for those tabs.
Joh you saw what I did right?

Um we trust a 3" strap to pull our jeeps out of 3feet of mud  or to flop an entire jeep back onto it's wheels after rolling it with these same straps.......ahhhhh but I lack intelligence thinking those same straps, rated at 10,000 plus pounds won't support 120lbs of fuel.  I think insulting my intelligence is the way to go here. moonie moonie
