I will not reveal my source for the bender, they can reveal themselves, I don't want a bunch of people contacting them to do some bending. But I am bending it as I need it.

Hey thats cool John.  Just was wondering as I knew you can't get that nice a bend with a harbor freight bender as I have tried that route already so I thought maybe there was a piece of machinery in your garage thats was yours you forgot to tell us you got. No Biggie

Everything is tacked into place, I ran into an issue with my welder so a couple tacks look like shlt, but they are only tacks so I could care less, I got the welder fixed as well.  Little history, I replaced the Main board a couple years ago because of a wire speed issue, since then it worked fine then the other day the wire speed started to surge again. took it apart and put a little Di-electric grease on the board contacts and works like a charm again. Guess this is par for the course when your welder is at least 20 years old, super beat, and was free.

Anybody wanna come over and help me lift the cage out some time. thinking mid next week since it will be raining all this week?

I still have to do some work on the seat mounts and tack those in, hoping to spend some time this week doing it. I will let you guys know, I don't envision it taking more than 2 minutes to remove, 30 minutes drinking beer  Wink

UPDATE..

I changed the name of the build. I planned on spending all of Friday and Monday of the holiday weekend working on the jeep, but thanks to Murphay and his jackass law, the fuel pump (or so I thought) in my pickup crapped out wed. afternoon, so I got the durango and towed it home. I can Hear the fuel pump coming on, but I have zero pressure at the manifold, so I assumed the pickup home either popped off or broke.  SO... I spent all day friday on my back in the street (could not get the truck in the driveway) pulling the drive shaft, then the fuel tank. In the process, I snapped the return line on the fuel pump, it probably had nothing to do with me man-handing the crap out of it trying to fight the fuel line off, but I will blame the cheap ass Auto Zone tools. so I got the tank out, pulled the fuel pump, guess what.... Stupid pick up line popped off.  well after nearly 200,000 miles, it was bound to happen. but since I broke the return line, I had to replace, got everything buttoned up, got the tank in, I decided since the drive shaft was out, might as well replace the u-joints (while not original, not even close to new) at some point the pinion end ear must have taken a good hit bacuse there was no way that the cap is slightly crushed and would come out, absolutly suprised there was never a failure.  So after 8 hours of fighting this stupid vehicle, I said F-It threw the shaft in the bed, put it into 4wd, proceeded to back the truck into the driveway and go pack for my weekend in Maine.

On Monday when I got home, I dropped the shaft off at Montrose Machine, asked him to cut the yoke off and weld a new one on and balance bla bla bla.

went home, and finially got some time to spend on the jeep. got the seat tabs welded in for the driver, finished fabbing the pass side mounting rails and got the tabs ready to be welded in (will do it when the cage is out. pretty much ready to pull the cage now. so the goal for this week is to get the jeep out of the garage, washed (covered in a sh!t load of metal shavings from the grinding and crap) get the cage out and the top on it. finish welding the cage and paint. I didn't take any pics but I will try to tonight.

Sounds like you had a busy weekend.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting less and less motivated in working on my other vehicles (non-jeep DD).

Looking forward to the pics.

While it's size can be cumbersome... No, I ment I was sore. cut the crap out of my knuckles, and then I am getting sick of trying to work in my 1/2 car garage.
