So what is the plan for the body work ? Another skim coat or are you cutting out the quarters and welding in new ones ? I know you are not a fan of glass tubs but when I see bodies like that ( or rather other peoples creative body work) it makes me like fiberglass a little more.

I agree it’s disappointing to see in this case the PO over doing it with bondo instead of repairing it right the first time. However, if the PO did the job correctly chances are I wouldn’t have paid $400 for the Jeep in the first place coupled with the $850 worth of parts I sold after removal it owes me nothing.

I plan to borrow a sand blaster and do sections at a time. Sand blasting can be hard on the metal but soda won’t remove the bondo and rust and it doesn’t have to be perfect being a trail/street rig. Once the paint is removed there will be some dolly work and I’ll cut out the bad metal and replace with new. I will also need to replace some hat channels as well.

I don’t prefer to do body work I’m not close to being good but I rather do the work then own glass. Nothing wrong with glass much easier to own, I just like the feel, sound and the tradition of a metal body. If I rub a tree or crunch a fender a hammer is my friend and I like my odds in case of an engine fire.

Not trying to start a metal/glass debate, just expanding on what Rich already posted.

That's funny that we posted together on another thread about this. Unless you use the search it would take a better memory then mine to recall someone elses locker install from three years ago.

Thanks for taking the time to read it Trav, I'm glad you liked it.

I plan to restart this project after I get my 6 on the trail.
