I finally took the time to remove the bolt I over torqued on the water pump..... after drilling a gazillion holes in the rotisserie last week I swore I would never drill anther hole by hand, went out and bought a porter-cable minus the tax. Not the best, but it should take care of my needs. http://www.lowes.com/pd_78742-46069-PCB660DP_0_?productId=3162489&Ntt=drill+press&Ntk=i_products&pl=1¤tURL=/pl__0__s?newSearch=true$Ntt=drill%20press$y=8$x=33 That is all

Thanks, and the by-product of drilling all those holes I became proficient in sharpening drill bits on the side of a bench grinder.

When I bought this project I was thinking the fuel gauge wasn’t working or it was low on fuel. I confirmed the gauge wasn’t reading correctly when I remove the tank and it was ¾ full. Although the fuel tank look fairly new as did the sending unit the PO never installed the tank strap so there was a chance vibration may have caused the sending unit to fail. I cleaned the voltage post and ground on the sending unit and tested it with an ohm meter. It tested out to be good so it was an issue with the wiring, ground, or gauge (maybe all three). I will be installing all new wiring plus testing the gauge on a later date. I had an extra working sending unit so I thought it may be helpful to show the readings for future reference. Empty Half Full would be around 10 ohms I will clean the tank and get it ready for paint.

Began setting up my york compressor for OBA. I tested the one that came with the 360 I installed and found it had a bad clutch after putting juice to it so I used a good spare I had in my shop. Although the york has a separate oil reservoir, it still leaks some oil back into the discharge line where it can end up in the tires and such. The basic design features make it impossible to eliminate oil discharge but a oil by-pass mod can help. I chose to do the mod by removing the head. Below is the oil passage that needs to be blocked. I filled the hole using a wood screw, easy as that. Side note: the right of the two non-threaded holes has the oil passage. The side of the case is reflective and there is only one oil passage hole. When installing the head all bolts must be torqued in sequence starting with the two center bolts (17-26 ft lbs) Primed in ready for paint.

if you want to ditch those bulky threaded fittings, NAPA has a smaller, barbed fitting that can be put in there place, I can search the part number, pretty sure I have it listed somewhere. One of the issues I initially had was clearence around those fittings. Edit you can see it in the bottom of the pic, this was my york post re-build

Used some silver hammered paint on the body it’s not completely mounted but you get the idea. Disregard the missing WP bolt.

I cleaned and painted the air pump and alternator brackets. I also cleaned out my garage and coated it with por-15 epoxy. It took all Saturday to move everything out and prep the floor. I didn’t get the base coat down until 7pm. Sunday morning I put the top coat on. I know some rather not use a floor coating but por-15 has a good reputation and the only negative thing I’ve heard was issues with “hot wet” tires (hot dry and wet warm tires are fine). The source of the complaints I’ve read were customers from the southern states. Nothing ventured nothing gained. I hate painting, that is all.
