Here I will document the heavy modification of my newly acquired Nerf Maverick Rev-6.

Background:

At work yesterday my boss told me something that one of my coworkers had done better than I had previously. I don't remember what it was, its not important. My manhood was on the line so I did what anyone would do... I told my boss I would challenge him to a Gentleman's Duel. So, I fired up my Microsoft Outlook, clicked the calender and setup a meeting request for 30 days from now... 3-15-11. To my suprise he accepted.

RULES!
1. Both men shall wield 1 Nerf Maverick Rev-6.
2. Both men shall stand back to back and take 10 paces.
3. On the 10th pace, both men shall about face and await instruction to "Ready, Aim, Fire".
4. One shot will be taken.
5. Loser buys the winner pizza for lunch.

I have no idea if he will be modifying his blaster or not. I only know that I am. As a gentleman, I will not modify the actual dart - only the weapon itself.

May the best man win.

COSTS:

1. Nerf Maverick Rev. 6 - $8 (target).
2.
3.
4.
5.

I dont think there will be video of the actual event. I am sure if there was it would pretty lame, and I am not going to be appear lame in a thread about dueling.

The potatoe gun would win inevitably. However I doubt the challenge would have been accepted.

Updating the links as I plan my modifications today.

it is. I am going to look at springs at my local hardware store, but I have more research to do. I believe a bigger spring will require reinforcements to the body. I am reviewing more youtube videos now.

Jeff I am going to do some of that, but I am not sure that I am going to remove those long dart guides as this will be indoors and require accuracy.  As it is now, the blaster is suprisingly accurate. I will be removing some of the other pieces to allow for more airflow.

Thanks for the vid.
