So the latest update, I cut the roof off ,braced the inside and doors so they will not move during the "chop" I am aiming for a total chop of 3" I got the Tube for the roll cage.
stripped all the wood out of the interior.
I got all the door latches working.

I also found out the exact model and year of the body I have. It is a one year only 1927 dodge brother's "fast four" it was the first and only year of that body styling and came with a flat 4 cyl. they years after 27 the body was wider and had different styling under the windows. not really a big deal because I'm not "restoring" it but its nice to know what your building.

I think that would be the last year that dodge brothers owned/operated dodge, I think 1927 is when Chrysler bought dodge

OK I had to look this up because I was pretty confident that Dodge was sold in the 20's.. It appears that Chrysler bought Dodge in 1928; Dodge sold due to pressure from other manufacturers under chrysler.

Quote
Into this fray stepped Walter Chrysler with the announcement of three new makes of vehicles. The first Plymouth (or "Chrysler Plymouth" as it was originally billed) was a continuation of the old Chrysler Four, which was itself a continuation of the final Maxwell. But Dillon, Reed was likely far more unnerved by the other two introductions; a new lightweight six-cylinder car, the DeSoto, which initially sold right below Dodge in price, and the Fargo line of trucks, aimed straight at the Dodge truck line. In his excellent biography of Walter P. Chrysler, Vincent Curcio states that DeSoto and Fargo were created for the primary purpose of intimidating Dillon, Reed into selling Dodge... which they did later in 1928 for $170 million, perhaps short of their asking price but still at a profit.

okay so i was half right, looks like they kept the name dodge brothers untill 30 thats what confused me because I knew they held that name untill at least 30. after that is was just plain Dodge.

SO today, funny story.
I am riding my dirtbike around up at clough state park in weare NH and i drive by what looks to be the back half of an onld sedan body. so eyes stops and eyes looks. Well all three rear windows and moldings(minus glass) are there and in usable shape. so I unearth it and clean it off. folded it up and tied my tow strap to it and dragged it out of the woods with the dirtbike. NOW i don't have to create a new back window/panel from scratch! AND I have some rear windows to scarf into the rear of my body so I dont have to bead roll hat edge out of fresh sheet. VERY GOOD FIND if i dont say so myself. I wisdh I knew hw to get photos off my phone I would post them.

Bob if the back window area is in good shape and you want it out of your yard i will grab it The back window from this piece i have is "usable" but not at all desireable, just better than what i have now\

I am uploading some more recent pictures of the build also

So i measured and taped off what I would be chopping out. I chopped just under 3" off of the overall. enough so I can still stick my head out the window if needed.

I F-ing Love portabands

But sometimes they limit you and you have to use the wizard wheel here and there

Had my friends test out the new motor before i put the top back on.

Lining up the doors and tacking everything in place

so the oficial before chop and after chop, its ammazing what a difference in attitude it  gets with just 2-3 inches missing.

Now I build the roll cage
