From what I have seen that is the going price for those things.  I looked onto buying one a couple of years ago and they are hard to find n good condition, ESP  in new england

a guy that comes into my shop bought a Lot of like 10 of them a couple years back through (this was before i was into the offroad scene, because othewise i would prob have one.)  not sure the exact numbers but i Know he said that it worked out to be less than 1K a peice and they all ran. two of them are still ruinning around marblehead I believe, they may be different ones than what he baught, not totally sure, but that just seemed like a lot of money to ask.
personally I would go about half of what he's asking, maybe 4K if i really wanted it.

thats exactly what i was thinking but they are very slow

I seen the guy on Pirate that sells them all the time out west. Im sure the top speed of 50 would get old fast but I can imagine the looks it would get if the camper in the bed was done right and there would never be a lack of power pulling the trailer and jeep.
