Is it possible to adapt that hitch (not sure what its called...but I see them on a lot of construction trailers) to a ball type hitch?

it's called a pintle hitch, and you buy a pintle hitch to go into a 2" receiver to tow on one.

Something like this

or this

and attach it to this

Thats the round about way to do it, they sell ones as a one piece unit, but you get it.

did anyone notice that the trailer needs new tires and it has split rims?  these are a pita tire / rim combo.  the tires will end up costing about $500  plus it says wiring plug needed . . . .well you can be guaranteed that it will need wired from frt to back cause i am sure the wiring is rotted out (yep the wires will be rotted out) or it will need rewired cause the thing has prob. lead a hard life.  you can alos bet that it will need new brakes which will be another $500  so low and behold you just bought a 9k trailer for $2000 and you still have a used trailer, a brand new trailer will cost you $2000  (proof)  http://appalachiantrailers.com/16-FT.%20DIAMOND%20DECK%20CAR%20HAULER12-29-05.htm

i have tried to do the save money by buying a cheap used trailer deal and usually to make it safe you end up spending more money and time on it that if you had just gone out and bought a new trailer.
