If so where did you go?, how was it? and what time of year did you go?

I am planning on doing a weekend up north in the next month and am looking for good places where i can do both in the same weekend.

i went white water rafting a while ago, it was a ton of fun. i believe it was the kennebec river in maine. the tour group we used was moxie outdoor adventures. http://www.moxierafting.com/ if you wait for the 4th of july weekend, they open up the dam at the mouth of the river which makes the rapids much more intense. you stop partway through the trip for lunch on the side of the river, its a complete day, and it takes a lot out of you, but it is incredibly fun. i recommend going.

as far as skydiving, my father taught me a few things, one was to never jump out of a perfectly working airplane.

Best bang for my buck on the white water, was Northern Outdoors in ME.

HOWEVER I would not go in October again as it was so dam cold.

I have been three times with this company, Once in October, Once in May, and once in April.  This company runs the DEAD river or the Kennebec river.  The best time to go, is in May after all of the snow is melted from the mountains, because they open up the dam and the rivers get to 7000 cfs.

2007 Release Schedule

Scheduled Dates:  Flow Price
Saturday, May 5th  7000 cfs!! $72
Saturday, May 12th 7000 cfs!!  $72
Sunday , May 27th 5500 cfs $72
Saturday, June 2nd  5500 cfs $92
Saturday, June 9th 5500 cfs $92
Sunday, June 17th** 3500 cfs $92
Sunday, August 12th** 3500 cfs $92
Sunday, September 2nd  5500 cfs $99
Saturday, September 15th** 3500 cfs $99
Sunday, October 7th up to 6000 cfs $72

Also the lodge has it own brewery so that makes for a great night.

I've been skydiving and I went to 1-800-ugojump in lebnon ME.  It's a little bit of a ride, but we made a weekend out of it and had the time of our lives.  I don't remember how much it cost, but I would do it again in a heart beat!

i went rafting a few years ago on the kennebec.  it was pretty fun but i would definately call the kennebec "family friendly"  the next year, the same group did the penobscot (i could go that time) and came back all bruised and beat up.  they said the penobscot had a few rapids that were far more exciting than the kennebec.  wish i could give you a first person account.

I did both... at the same time! jumped out of a plane with nothing more than a raft and paddle

Never been, I don't see the use in jumping out of a perfectly good plane.

Rafting is cool, my favorite is teh lazy rafting tour on the Saco, one canoe for you, one canoe for your beer, the way life should be.

I went skydiving in Orange Mass about ten years ago.  I got a bumpersticker that said "1-800-sky-dive."  Im not sure if the place is still there but worth looking into.

Amazing experience.  I think everyone should do it at least once.

CrabApple also does good white water trips...I think it's the Kennebunk too.
An alternative to skydiving is available in Nashua.
It's a vertical wind tunnel.
They blow a fan up at 100 Mhp - you float in the air.
It's exactly the same experience as skydiving without the sky as you are indoors.
the pro's...a 2 minute session in the tunnel is equivalent to two real skydives, it's cheaper, safer, closer.
I took all my kids last month.  It was a blast!
I think the name of the place is skydive USA- right on the DWH.
