danm stealership

well i went back to the dealership today bc of an engine light that was on when i jumped in the rig this morning.  I wasnt concerned about anything bc i bought the thing 10 days ago....well they took it right in and ran the code and turns out it was the breather hose for the filler neck on the tank.  it come off either during the install of the body lift or during some time in the mudd after finishing the lift.  needless to say they said they had to charge me bc it was not something they did and off-roading/body lift must have caused it.  i tried fighting it and when he started removing twigs and brush from under the jeep i kinda lost the little ground i was standing on...so i had to pay $40 and im just ticked bc it was something so simple that i should have caught

but seriously, if i was running the dealership i would have left it slide bc it would have gone further with the customer than the $40 for "1/2 hour" of labor.  it would be nice to be loyal to a dealership but small things like this go a long way, in the wrong direction, with me and i will have ZERO loyalty to them.

just venting and warning those that do their own body lifts be sure to check this tube...it could save you $40!!!

auto zone will check codes for you free of charge then you  have an idea of what to look for on your own

next time look me up.. I read codes for free and might help fix it for free as well!! ;) food for thought.  Also, no offense but I can see why a dealership may frown on a used car they sold showing back up after said only 10 days with all kinds of mods to it and sticks hanging off of the undercarriage and not wanting to foot the bill for your mistake.  No offense intended but if it only cost you to Andy Jacksons for your first mistake owning that rig then I say your lucky and should use this as a learning experience as you have. You may have already helped someone reading your thread today so its for the best. It could be worse.  I know someone who rolled a vehicle they still were making payments on.  Try bringing that into the dealership for a fix. :D  ;)

x2.

I borrowed my uncle's, and it helped us diagnose a little temperature sensor that was faulty.  It would have been $100+ at the stealership to have it fixed.  The first time you use the scanner, and don't bring the Jeep to a shop...it will have paid for its self.

A simple jumper wire would do as well.
