Can you ID this round?

An internet beer if you can pin the rifle’s make and year (within 5 years).

I will add more hints if need be.

Good guess, but no all three.

Hint:

The Winchester M70 was modified for Marine snipers to use the cartridge in question.

1906 was the year 30-06 cartridge was introduced and ran until the early 70s. I'm looking for the year and make of the rifle the cartridge in the first pics belongs to.

Another hint:

I'm guessing he meant to say M1

Round - 7.62x54 Russian
Rifle- Mosin-Nagant
Manufactured 1891-1965

No,

Wasn't the American made (1915-17 Remington) Mosin-Nagant either.

A1 rifle mid 1940s...WWII

M1 - no

1978 sling shot?

Worth a shot but no.

Huge Hint!

The rifle was manufactured in Ma.

Make and model?
