Just to preface, I do not have issues with police officers, a number of my friends are LEO's and all my neighbors are LEO's.

SO I got pulled over in Reading on my way to J-Dawgs shop the other day, I got pulled over because my plate is an AUG month plate and the sticker was expired. I completely understand the reason for the pull over, I explained to the officer that I re-registered over the internet and that I had not received the sticker and new reggie yet, I provided my old registration and a print out of the email that the registry sends you and tells you to keep in the vehicle till the new reggie comes.

So the officer goes back to his motorcycle and I can tell he's writing something up, so I am figuring something else might be wrong, tail light out or something, I don't know.

SO he hands me a citation for not having a valid inspection sticker; I looked at him completely awe struck. I informed him that my truck was inspection, pointing to the windshield. He goes back to his motorcycle, mean while I rifle through my glove box and find the receipt from the inspection.  He comes back and tells me that his computer says my truck was never inspected, I hand him the receipt for the inspection. He takes it, communicates with the dispatcher saying; he has a valid inspection, he has the receipt; I can faintly hear the dispatcher say something like, give it to him anyway, not our problem.

So the officer hands me the citation and basically says tough Censored, I said some stuff and go on my way.  Yesterday I went to the Police Station to speak to a sergeant friend of mine, whom I’ve known for about 20 years, always on good ground.  He informs me that this doesn’t affect my insurance and that I shouldn’t worry about it, I proceeded to tell him it was the principle, not the cost. Then he tells me “I’m gonna keep it in the system, we were short on citations last month and we need the number, you’ll have to get your truck re-inspected”

Phuck that! I am not spending another $30 because your system screwed up.

And too add, Jay went with me to get my truck inspection in July and can verify that it is current and up to date.

Sorry to hear John, I would contest the citation in writing with documentation of your inspection included. Hopefully they dismiss it without a hearing.

Another option would be to return to the inspection station and let them know they gave you a faulty inspection sticker that failed to read out when the officer scanned the sticker. Show them the citation and inspection receipt. Make sure he gives you the new sticker free before you have sex with his girlfriend.

contest the ticket and bring the supporting documentation...would get dismissed in RI FWIW.

I agree the entire thing sounds ridiculous....good for you for not flipping out and possibly getting jammed up further.

Shame on the pig for not making a good call on the road...I mean what more do you need....there is a valid sticker on the truck, a receipt for the service.....im baffled.  And if my buddy of 20 years told me to eat it I would punch him in the stomach and stomp on his toe.

Sounds like you and the sarg are real tight..aren't these the same guys you are trusting to store your firearms? I'd go get my guns pronto if I were you..before they decide that's it better you leave them there because there is already enough in households in your area.

No not super tight, he's a friend of my uncles, I knew him from around family parties and he used to come into the restaraunt I worked at when I was 15. We know each other by name but not much more than that, aquaintance is more appropriate than friend.

I do not believe I can contess a non-charged citation (written warning.)  When I went to speak with Mark, I brought everything I had when I was pulled over. I think I am more floored that he wants to keep it in the system for the "number" aspect of it.

Maybe I just got too much sand in my vagina over this.. I'm going to put the new sticker on the plate when I get home and not care. I mean this was the first time I was pulled over in like 10-12 years.

To add, I wonder if the issue with my inspection stems from the fact that my truck was not inspection for 3 years.. the station guy said it made no difference.

No, my guns are in Malden, this happened in Reading and I have no issue with them being there, they've been there for 5 years, I've gone to see them a number of times, come and go when ever, they just verify my ID's and such.

But for another topic, been chatting with my Dad, when he gets back from Africa, I think we're gonna buy a new safe that will fit mine and his firearms.
