First off I'm sorry that you are as dumb as I am.

Secondly, before you flip out, check your battery tie-down!!! Now let me clarify that one for you.

Last night I went to go run some errands, in the rain, with the Jeep. Well, when I got in the Jeep it half worked. Some of the accessories worked, while others didn't. Also, the engine would click to turn over, but it wouldn't completely turn over. Then it started getting weird....the accessories started flashing and wouldn't turn off, the radio would play for 2 seconds then stop and start again, the alarm started going crazy. Needless to say, I was pretty PEEVED that my jeep was acting this way and I didn't know why.

Well, the reasons it was doing this were simple....I'm dumb!!

I was running some wires for my OBA the previous day, so I naturally assumed that I had a ground, which wasn't suppoed to be, shorting out the entire system. So I checked that.....nothing. Then I thought I re-hooked up the alternator wrong. So I checked that....still nothing. Finally, I though it was the battery and grabbed a 1/2 wrench to take the terminals off to clean them....but in the rain, with a metal wrench, I kept getting 12V shocks!!

During one of those little shocks from touching watter I didn't see, because it was raining outside at night, I noticed I moved the battery? How could this be, it's tied down....or was it?

The f'n battery wasn't tied down and the pressure plate on the battery tray was only making partial contact causing an incomplete circuit. It's kind of like a fail safe which was working the way it should and pissing me off at the same time.

So, I tightened up the battery tie down, parked my soaked a$$ back in the driver seat, checked the accessories (which all worked) and drove to Home Depot....which was closed by that time!

The moral of the story.....check the battery tie down!!!

Tooch,

How are you coming along with your OBA project?  Any updates or pics?

It's actually almost done.  I have the York/clutch installed.  I have the manifold/pressure switch/safety valve installed.  I have the tank holes drilled, but then I spray painted them to prevent rust and haven't mounted the tank yet.  So once the tank is mounted, I just have to run the hose, mount the coalescing filter and ground the OBA clutch.  I should be done this weekend at the latest, but I keep trying to find time to work on it during the week.

When all is said and done, I'll get some pictures of.  I don't have any of the install, but you were 100% right on the Kilby brackets.  I had the entire York installed in 30 minutes with no problems what so ever.  The bolts were perfect length, the plate lined up perfectly, it was amazingly easy.  It was a tight fit and I had to remove some extra crap (FIPK Guard), but it was still really easy.

Sweet!  Glad to hear everything is working well. I will look forward to seeing some pics and checking it out at the BBQ (if you are going to be there).
