I'm shopping for some more tires since i dont currently even have enough vehicles to utilize all the tires i currently own.
What happen to the pro comp buy 3 get one deals? I thought they did that every once and a while and haven't seen it advertised in a long time.
I know tire prices have gone up and arent going to stop going up if oil prices don't plummet drastically but i dont see it happening.

Any good online or local sources that anyone has used recently with any luck?

I bought my BFG Mud Terrain KMs from Costco. 4 31x10.5 R15at $180/piece with free mounting and balancing and road hazard in March 2009.

Those retreads look just like my old Goodyear Mtr's the 315/76-16's are on backorder for 8weeks. They look decent, I might try a set out on my xj.

ah yes i forgot i had a costco card....i'll have to see what they have. i would put the retreads on a jeep or something but not for my truck. i would hate to have a blowout or loose a skin while i'm fully loaded up towing something.

tony, for your truck there are no deals on new tires. i am not being a dink just saying. i JUST went through this. they are expensive now. i was lucky my dad is friends with a tire guy and he got me a deal but the size you need are not going to be cheap, well you can find cheaper tires but they will last half of what the more expensive tires cost.

and for the record my buddy runs treadwrights on all his work trucks, he has had no issues with them to date. he has been running them for years now. all different sizes and all the truck work HARD! towing, plowing, pulling, deep mud, rain etc etc etc i was going to buy them but like i said i did find a better price than retail.

I'll keep the retreads in the back of my mind for if i REALLY need to get something. but for now i am "shopping" for the deals; if such a thing still exists haha. good to see someone actually does heavy towing etc with them no problems.
I'm hoping someone happens to see the buy three get one deal somewhere because I officially would put the pro comp xtreme all terrains on cause i loved them on my last truck and wish i never even sold them when i got the ones i have now ha.
and yes the size makes a big difference in price. I'm going to a 35" because i will be commuting a bit more than i use to now and the price for a set of 35" vs 37" is a full $400 more.

tony, i got dueler at revos and they are awesome, quiet, good road manners and a rather aggressive tread pattern for an AT tire.  i hated my pro-comps the extreme at or whatever it was called!  i know you have said before you liked them but man i hated them! in fact of the 3 or 4 people i know who have run pro-comps you are the only one who has ever said he liked them. they were loud, unbalancable and generally had poor traction in all terrain i ran them in. in fact ok tire and wheel won't even sell pro-comps anymore cause they had so many issues witht the tires! NONE of them, mt, extreme mt, extreme at, etc

the revos are load range E in a 315/70r17 size thats a hard load range to find when you don't want a mud terrain. i have to run E tires are i shred D range tires witht the diesel and towing.  even retail on revos were a good price as i recall? i only get around 20k miles out of d range tires and E range last me 40k


just think of this when buying tires, low cost tires are cheaper cause they last fewer miles. this is a simple fact! ask any guy in the tire business if the cheaper tires are cheaper in the long run? if they are honest they will tell you the same thing i am saying

the treadwrights aren't the same as what they put on 18 wheelers and the carcass is a BFG. They have held up to 65 on the highway and 10 lbs on the trail with so issues. I did tons of research and while most people are 50/50 on them they are not the same tires you see on the side of the highways...cheap is cheap I agree for me it was a matter of getting tires and lift kit versus just one or the other but after what I ahve put them through I trust them on my Jeep which is a daily driver

Now that being said, I would jump on a set of Iroks if I had the extra funds...lol

officially what i would like to run and what i will run are prob going to be two different things. I'm keeping the options open. i get a pretty good discount from tire rack i'll have to see what they can do for the revos and see what else they have

Tony, I noticed that Goodyear is offering rebates right now on the duratrac and the Mtr. I'm running 315/75-16 duratrac's on my f-350, I have no complaints with them.

Edit, and they are e-load.

I ran the extreme mts on my jeep and loved them, but stick with a better quality stret tire for the truck. And yes even with my connections i still paid a shton of money for my michelins. I really cant complain though i got 54 thou out of the last set. My buddy Tom had some issues with the procomps being way out of spec on his roadforce machine. He went through a bunch before he got a decent set.

a good friend of mine just got the duratracs and they seem good. def quiet when they are new. the 17R is not E load though. I think tire manf. have something against 17" E load tires it just seems none of them are haha.
from the look and sound of things (at least in google searches) the procomp deal wont be happening again. but most websites are offering free or 50$ shipping along with a 150 mail in rebate.

i had ProComp Extreme Terrains and they were loud, louder than my LTB's now, wore out fairly quickly and were crap to balance and they were 31's. i run 28575R16 BFG's AT's with probably 70K on them and they are just starting to show there age. i need to get new tires soon and think i might go with the treadwrights

see what i mean? load range E is tough to find! its gay, unless you want mt tires. there are tons of them.  i had no luck with D range tires, i was told that a D range would be fine cause alot of D range have high weight load ratings but they still wore far faster than i thought they should.
