Thanks for the direction. I'll look there, I was looking through the Mass.gov website and couldn't find anything

I saw those links and this is what didn't make it seem like Jeeps are included even though they are specifically listed:
Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) Defined

Also known as Off Highway Vehicle (OHV), ORV’s are any motor vehicle designed or modified for use over unimproved terrain if used for recreation or pleasure off a public way and all legally registered motor vehicles when used off a way. Vehicles over 1000 lbs. such as pickup trucks or SUVs are prohibited from all trails at all times.

Registration

All ORVs must be currently registered in Massachusetts under MGL c. 90B. New Massachusetts Recreation Vehicle Laws require the display of registration on the left and right side of the vehicle.  Additionally, motor vehicles registered under chapter 90 must now also register as a recreation vehicle under chapter 90B (on/off road motorcycles, Jeeps, etc.) when used for recreation or pleasure once they leave a public way as defined in chapter 90. Out of state recreation vehicle registrations are not valid in Massachusetts. Contact the Division of Environmental Law Enforcement for registration information: (617)626-1610 or www.mass.gov/dfwele/dle/elereg.htm

It seems that you can register as an OHV, but you can't run it on any trail if the Jeep weighs over 1,000 lbs... Sorry for the off-topic

this is where all the apposition comes from.  They're made it so we have to get an additional registration in order to wheel old unmaintained public roads but aren't giving us anything back for our dollar.  Steps are being made to fix/modify/amend the situation, but it's going to take some time. Best we can do right now is play by their rules and hope to get something moving in our direction later down the cart path.

So if I go to a barbecue at my buddies house and park in his backyard I need the sticker.  Huh

I'd have to say that this wording was snuck in by some anti 4x4 hack and none of the legislators actually knew what they were voting for.

Things like this happen when we have no representation. The whole lets keep us a secret and they will leave us alone way of thinking is far gone. I'm looking to try and change this.

Nothing for nothing, sadly that’s how the political game works. You have to support them with numbers…..whatever side gives the most support betters their chance of gaining ground.

Edit: “Numbers” mean two things, 1) money, as in donations. 2) Support, as in getting your butt out on the street corner holding signs and/or phone banks come election time. Those who do gain ground.
