Powerline trails?
«
on:

Does anyone know what the actual laws are regarding 4wheeling on powerline trails? Any websites would be helpful. I searched as much as I could think of, but couldn't find anything. I've heard you can, you can't, depends on the area, etc. but nothing for sure just hearsay.

Depends on the area. The land owner is usually the power company, so if you want to wheel on the land, you HAVE to get written permission from them, or the town the land is in.
Other than that, I have no clue.

Power lines would be by permision of the property owner. Some are owned by the power company, most are right of ways on private land. either way, permision only!

Verbal permission is good enough in MA, and good enough in NH if you are with a club. Some times we go for the "don't ask/don't tell" policy, meaning: The landowner understands that if they grant you permission they legally could potentially be on the hook for something if you get hurt out there. Therefore you come to a verbal agreement, the landowner says "I'm not giving you express permission to be there but I won't chase you out or call the cops if you wheel my land"
You didn't ask, and he didn't tell.

sounds like a lot of go around. Why not pay your dues and wheel with NEJZ and let someone else worry about those powerlines
