After years and years of watching the Barrett Jackson Auction on TV it was my wife who finally pulled the trigger and said "you're going"... maybe because she got sick of watching 7 days of coverage on Speed each year.

I have something like 400 hi-res photos but I figured I would share a few here.  It is honestly tough to really appreciate each of these vehicles when there are so many together.  They all start to blend together... yup, another insane 60s muscle car with 10K in paint and an LS7 under the hood.. Roll Eyes  We took one day and went over to Russo & Steel to view some cars.  I didn't realize that there are actually 5 different auctions in Scottsdale that weekend.

My favorite car of the show that I could ever see myself owning someday.  I thought (just for a second) about selling all I own to bid on her.... then she sold for 46K.  Shocked

Favorite custom pickup with an LS6 - Sold for 155K

Talk about a killer interior!

There were tons of these cars but they never got old... 20" deep dish wheels, crazy paint, and the LS7

Sweet ride in the main vendor tent and VERY sweet engine.

Great access in the staging area... beer in hand and engines racing before the go over the block.

A nice classic Chevy. - Sold for 24K

Insane Mustang - I spoke to the owner for 30 min or so and he had 250K in to the build.

I'll post up some more soon if I can grab the time.  Hope you enjoy and I highly recommend attending the show.  The access was unbelievable and it was extremely well run.  Quick shot in the main tent.

Awesome, glad you had fun, wondering, what does it cost to get in and or, do you need to have some type of liscense? (dealers liscense for example)

thankfully, my budget prefers the rat rod look  Grin

rat rod= supid term!  its a hotrod or street rod  Roll Eyes

i went a few years ago, to the sale in florida. it was a great trip and like stated earlier the access to the cars is great. basically you can walk right up to them and check them out in close detail.  it wasn't expensive to get in, actually i don't even remember if you had to pay to get in?  but no you don't have to be a dealer to get in, if you want to bid you need to give a guarantee for payment to get a bidding number, or even give a deposit to the auction? i forget how it all worked exactly but it was very cool

awesome pictures

The show is HUGE and very well run.  There is every major vendor there (Roush, Superformance, GM Performance Parts, Etc..Etc) and they actually have a track set up where you can go for a ride.... and they smoke the tires off these cars.  There was too much to see so my brother and I didn't want to wait in line.

We went for 3.5 days so it made sense to buy a full week pass which was just over $100.  If you are going to to Friday and Saturday I think the tickets are $35/day.  A family friend told me that I should register as a bidder to get the best access... total bull.  Registering as a bidder cost $500 and the ONLY difference in the whole event is that you get to sit in the seats right in front of the stage and go go on stage.  We were able to go everywhere we wanted which was awesome.  Round trip airfare was only $280 with direct flights on US Air.

Glad people like the pics... I'll try to post more when I get a chance.
