This is about as far off road as I got..
and these two guys are the culprit
Long story short, about half way there, check engine light came on, didn't think anything of it. got onto rt140 and I realized I had low voltage, figured it was just a loose belt. got about 3 miles from the Arctic Cat Dealership (ya, wrong spot, I know) and I was at about 10 volts and dropping, decided to check the belt, belt was fine, termials on the alternator were fine. thought it would be best to turn back since at this point I fgured the alternator was junk and it was raining harder than a cat pissing on a flat rock. drove all the way home from Fitwilliam, passed about three members on my way home. Pouring rain, no wipers, no lights no guages, I unplugged every single electrical draw I could think of. I got about 5 miles from my house and it just died. I was at about 6 volts when the ECM just had enough. While waiting for Tony to pick my ass up, I checked the fuse block under the hood, both 50 amp fuse blown. changed them today and started it up, I am getting a lot of voltage spikes to about 18 volts when under throttle, need to test the voltage regulator tommorow, have to watch the baby for the rest of the night.
Glad to hear that there was some good times had, seriously wish I could have stuck around, trust me, sucks I drove 2 hours there, just to turn around and drive 2 hours back.

Wow guys, it looks like I missed quite a run! I had a wedding to attend so I couldn't go but it looks like there was plenty of action (good and bad) on this outing. I sometimes get nervous wheeling my CJ because in the back of my mind I know it is a 23 year-old rig. When the new Jeeps starts breaking.... that's when you know you are in some serious conditions. I have been up there before but don't know exactly where the group went this time out.
Thanks for all the pics. It is great to have someone post them up for other members who couldn't attend. Get fixed / upgraded asap and I hope to be wheeling again with you guys soon.

This was the point where I was so pissed and frustrated that I just gave up and cracked. I stopped caring about EVERYTHING then.
