Mitch, I have to let ya know what I have to understand my competition Grin It does pretty well being stock. The valve cover has never been off the truck and the turbo is all stock. I have an Air Dog lift pump, 5" turbo back to a 7" stack retaining a muffler, losing the Cat. I have a fully built transmission from Suncoast, billet everything that they make and I use the Smarty programmer. I dynoed that thing and it puts down a measly 425hp and 944ftlbs of torque.

Now, understanding that...We have two sleds here in Florida. The John Deere one, I cannot Pull in the stock class because "I don't appear to be stock". Don't ask me, just one of the things that sled owner has up his butt right now. I have a weight bar (which comes off) and suspension stops (which come out) so I don't appear stock. He doesn't want me Pulling stock, because if I do well in the stock class and then compete well in the 2.6 class, he doesn't want people think there is cheating going on. So, with the John Deere sled I must compete with the 2.6 class (inlet side of the turbo) which is the class everyone here I compete against is in. Then there is a 2.8 and then 3.0 class. As of now there are no 3.0's and one 2.8 that runs with the 2.6 class. It's an agreement thing amongst the Pullers.

So, the guys I Pull against are way more setup than I am and in most cases, those trucks are not daily drivers. They're towed there. Some of the trucks I run against are 700-800+ horsepower, that's why I said measly  Grin I fair well in the 2.6 class, because I'm consistent, the truck runs consistent. If the heavy hitters fumble a bit, I'm right there. I said that to one of the D-Max guys I run against and he stated it's not that. At the last Pull, the heavy hitters picked the wrong line and I apparently picked the right one. I won. The D-Max guy told me he ran the line that I used after and he only went 150' while I went out the back door with it. I think he's just being nice, I still attribute it to being consistent.

The black sled you see in the pics is where I run in both classes. Stock and 2.6. If I'm hanging weight off the front, that's the 2.6 class and if it's an empty weight bar, it's stock.

It's funny, there is a hand full of us that Pull and we're all found right here in Manatee/Sarasota counties. We have three D-Max's that are bad ass, one Ford 6.0 who has injectors, but stock turbo, Me and three other Dodges. All have more than me. We're promoting the dieselmotorsports heavy down here gaining new venues, but lacking the trucks to hook. We have a few others that will Hook from time to time, but the above is consistent unless they're broke.

And diesel dirt drags. There is a place over on the East Coast that has dirt drags and they do it once a month. We're going to start going there regularly as well. So far, I have the time to beat  Grin Don't ask me how, I ran a 4.9 in March getting second to a Ford (without my gang of west coast guys) and we went with three trucks this past time and got 1st, 2nd & 3rd. I won with a 4.826. It's between a 200' & 300' track. Fun.

We're having a local sled/dirt drag track built here, we should get a lot more interest now.

So, I'm at a point where the truck is still dependable, reliable and I have fun with it. If I start going with injectors, turbo and the rest of the powerful goodies, I may lose the above. So, I think this Dooge is staying right where it is and I'll be looking for another I could build the snot out of for the 2.6 class. All in the fullness of time  Grin

I do have a ton of vids, I'll get them together a bit later.

Back Grin Never gone Cool

Hell no, I throw crap at that Dooge and it just keeps taking it. I love that truck, no complaints on my 1st ever owned diesel Grin

Adam's got a girlfriend Huh And she broke an 80? I assume it was a Dodge by you saying something about the Ford 80. If she has a 3rdGen, they're not Dana 80's...they're bigger, AAM 11.5. 80's better right now, but they're starting to make all the good stuff for the AAM's.

I won't be up that soon, maybe mid August for the Doc's. If I'm up for a bit, I'll have to swing in.
