Ordered it today, with the compelte ford package.  I'll let everyone know how it works out.

Is it strictly for diagnosing, or does it also allow for you to adjust the parameters of the factory ECM?

and yes I read the description, computer controled engines are still a little ahead of me.

Stupid question...but is this for the CJ or your Subaru (I think you have a Subaru).

How was your scan tool doing? Every comment from other members are useless. They are just making fun of it.

The truck it was used for died..... a dozen times.

I actually have the unit Bluerocket purchased right here with me.  I used it many times on the truck.  It helped to read the different values that the engine was reporting.  I could then compare them to a gauge that I had hooked up to see what the engine was really doing.  Occasionally I had trouble making it connect, but it always came through.

Please offer an example of said "useless" and "making fun of it"

I fail to understand your analysis

I would say it is a nice tool, as tim said you can watch realtime statistics on sensors while it is running log data etc.  The only negative i'd give it is they sell a license pack per brand.   You could see this as a posative that you dont have to buy all of them.  I believe it was around 350 with the ford pack which is needed to read the diesel powertrain module in the truck (HP oil etc).

As tim mentioned occasionally its flaky connecting, but that could be the truck or the tool honestly.
