Nice build and beautiful welds.  Dont' worry about this group.  We never leave anyone behind and to us.....wheeling is wheeling.  Doesn't matter what you have, just enjoy, be respectful and have a good time.

Stupid question.....where does that door lead?

Very cool.  I am interested to see how well that front radius arm works for you.
I did a similar setup in my chevy when I SAS'ed but with upper and lowers mounts on both sides and it is rigid.  so rigid that I took the sway bar out and you would never know.

Nice build!   Look forward to seeing you on the trails, we run all makes and models a great group of guys and gals.    All of our trail rides are alcohol free so nobody will be talking trash until after the run :).

Here it is sitting on its own wheels. We have to roll it around on these pizza cutters for now until i cut away enough of the body to fit the 39.5"s on it.

Almost by design, a stock XJ front driveshaft fits perfectly. The rear driveshaft will most likely need to be a 2-piece based on the way the crossmembers ended up. We've been kind of building this thing part by part.

We decided to go with a 3 link front radius arm set up, with a driver's side radius arm controlling the pinion angle, along with a panhard bar. The rear is 4-link. King coilovers are on all 4 corners. The rear axle is a dually hub GM 14-bolt that i pulled out of an old motorhome, with one side shortened about 3" to match the front. The front axle is a high pinion Ford dana 60 center section with chevy outers.

I cut out the stock transmission crossmember along with the crossmember for the torsion bars. In their place we fabricated a new crossmember that welded to the frame comprising of the front radius arm brackets on the end, with a removable transmission crossmember in the center.

I want to make note that everything on this truck is 100% custom hand made by myself and my good friends Chris and Dave who were generous enough to donate their shop and their efforts to the project

Came across a 1994 S15 Jimmy a few years ago and it was too good a deal to pass up. Power everything, leather seats, working AC. $600 got me a pretty decent little truck. Now about this time my friends and I would head up to the old quarry off of route 101 in Epping NH and goof around on the trails. It was on one such excursion that we ran into some folks in some lifted jeeps that were doing a trail ride. They seemed like nice enough guys so we decided to tag along, myself in the jimmy, my friend Dan in his stock '01 cherokee and my friend Brandon in his lifted '03 ranger on 35s. It started out fine but eventually the beers started getting put back and these folks started getting a little nasty towards me, for no reason other than the fact that I wasn't driving a jeep. I was deliberately led into a mud hole that i had no hopes of ever making it through and then got completely abandoned while i was stuck up past the floorboards on mud. The night went on and on like this and these guys started getting real nasty telling me how I had wasted my money and was an idiot for driving anything other than a jeep. Of course my friends and I were stuck with them since we had absolutely no idea where we were. Words cannot describe how humiliated i felt.

It was at that point that i vowed that if I ever saw those guys again I would be the one laughing

And so began the project that I would call "Big Jim". I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
