So long story short, I have an extra 4l60E trans. it's a 2wd trans that was removed from a running/driving truck with 90K+ miles. I am not sure what I want to do with it. Initially I was thinking of putting it into my YJ, but the adapter to get it behind the motor is almost $600 plus the controler, plus converting it to 4wd, then I got to thinking, would it be better to stab it into the tube chassis behind a 5.3 with a divorced case.

money aside

would I be better off
1. saving time and getting a 4wd 700r4, they are similar minus the electronic conrtol and just plain easier to work with
2. convert to a 4wd trans and run it because there is a increased strength value somewhere.

unless I end up selling, I plan on rebuilding to increase my auto trans knowledge either stock rebuild or monster in a box kit.
Some advice would be appreciated.

*EDIT* this is the later 97+ 3 piece case trans, not an early 4l60/4l60E trans if it matters

To error is to be human; to error and blame it on someone else, that managerial potential.
