I thought you were buying a TJ???  Grin

after the winter.... doing some saving and come next spring I should have the money for the tj....sell the xj for parts to go for the TJ......or roll the damn thing, whichever comes first.
screw the TJ
get a YJ, they're better.  Wink

wanna bet?  the tj is a better platform, hands down. although i do have a soft spot for yj's myself.
i have no doubt about that, but the older models are always better than the newer models, jeep wise. and in my opinion.

by that logic the CJ's would also be better, seeing how they were the originals, and had round headlights.

oh i agree, cj's are even better than yj's.
i just think that tjs are not as good. not a fan of the "newer" round headlight models.

^^^^^^^^

this has got to be the dumbest arguement i have read on here in a while. "tjs' are better than yjs"  "NO YJS' ARE BETTER"

may i ask? better than what?

the tj frame is stronger than a yj from the factory, and a yj frame is better than a cj (i am not talking about rust being better or worse, just the factory frame strength)  the motors were pretty much the same in the yj and tj, the trans were the same, the t-case were the same the axles were the same (although you could get a d44 in the tj)  the only real differences were in terms of suspension and body design.  and the suspension on a tj is FAR superior to a yj, leaf springs can be made to work very well but not as good as a coil and link type suspension. thats just the facts.

if you are talking pure and simple looks the cj wins hands down, cool from the factory.  and if you really want to get into it i would say the coolest looking jeep has to be a cj2a or 3a

I have always been partial to the 3b - i believe its nicknamed "dog face" ?

I have nothing further to add about yj vs tj. I would own an lj over both.
