My wife hit a peice of steel on the highway and demolished the LEFT SIDE tires and rims, as you may remember I mentioned this not to long ago.

I bought new tires and rims, slapped them on, got up to 100 on the highway, no issues. So I stopped there, thinking no damage to suspension - all OK.

That was 4 weeks ago? About a week, week and a half ago I started to feel a shimmy in the front - its getting a little worse, but still not so bad that we can't use the car. We took it in for an inspection today and failed. He said the RIGHT SIDE outer tie rod is bad and needs replacing. We get the red rejection today.

Could this in anyway be related to the large object that destroyed the left side tires/rims? Even though it's the right side outer tie rod?

Obviously I am trying to figure out if I need to call my insurance company. Maybe its just ironic and unrelated - that's where I need your super duper help!

Jeff (crownauto) - you get many props. But when you can ship two parts to my door at half the price the mechanic tried to sell my wife one for, you can understand why guys like me prefer to ask you for anything auto related. Thanks again dude. Ill call you in a couple weeks to see if I can get some other weird thing from you Smiley Like, beer! Can you give me a price on a 30 pack of miller highlife? Cheesy

yes! from what i have been learning  in my collision repair classes is that actually there can be indirect damage  to a vehicle from from direct damage.
so whatever was hit on the left side that piece of steel could have been sent flying into the right side or something like that.

it would have had to of transferred the impact in some way, the metal stayed where it was as the car behind my wife demolished her two left tires too. I am not thinking its related, and Crown got me the parts so cheap its not worth my time dicking around with the Ins. Co.
