There is a set of rockwells on craigs list NH for $900.  Its tempting, but a little too overkill now.  if ALL axles were $50 i was going to try to find a 14bolt and a D60 out of a chevy.  Not bad for $100, and build them slowly over the next year or so.  But a fully dressed D60 comes close to 400lbs...so its not a one person deal.

actually its more like 580-600 lbs

I will bet dollars to donuts that there is not a single D60 front axle in that yard. Hollands is only a 15 minute ride, I frequent there quite often. Tehey have front 60's but they pull them prior to the car going to the yard. IMHO, if your looking for some good axles that you will find in the yard, look for a 9" out of a ford for the rear and a front 44 from a waggy or dodge (if your not cutting down the 9") those are axles you will find in the yard.

Thanks John.  I'll probobly just keep an eye on craigslist for axles.

To answer Casey's question...I remember reading that the 8.8 is quite heavy...maybe around 200lbs.

1 frt and 1 rr

if you want 2 frts i will tell you where i got mine, but his prices have gone up since i bought them.  i happen to own the frt and rr i was offering.  thus the low cost.
