my jeep zj runs real good except when i go full throttle it has no power what could cause this i just did a full tune up on it anyone help me figure this problem out. its the 4.0 straight 6. 5 speed

I just went through this with a 2.5L YJ. Turned out to be an O2 sensor.

I'd do the fuel filter first because it's the cheapest and even if that's not the problem at least you have a new fuel filter.

so i have changed my fuel filtter and its still doing it i was also woundering if it could be a vacume line and or fuel pump my trans am did the same thing and it was the fuel pump but my T.A is also carbarated so i didnt think it would be connected.

I say Cat.. How old is it.
Edit: 96 ZJ should be ODB!!, so if it was a o2, it would throw a code.

I agree with Cat problem. Try this....if cruisin on highway is ok BUT on hills you slowdown & as you try to accellerate you still slow down......pretty classic cat problem.

Or you could save fuel on the test drive and use a vacuum gauge to rule out the cat or dirty air filter.

sluggish o2 sensors that do not go from closed to open loop in proper time do not always throw codes, mine didnt

Gut the Kitty  Did you noticed if the rest of the exhaust system suffered from rock bash? A few crushes in the exhaust pipe will restrict flow as well. I had a 97 and was losing power over time, gutted the cat and woke it back up.
