so finally flipped my LCA's to the proper way ( flex joints on the "frame" side, bushing on the axle) and I noticed the joint part, the bushing/ball joint thing assemble is alot more easy to move and pivot then it was before I installed them. it's sunday and I tried calling RC but they are closed at the moment.

So my question is after my long winded and dragged on explanation is, is this normal? do I need to tighten the joint up? or did I over grease it?

How easy to move?  When new, they're almost impossible to wiggle.  After breaking in, they should be easier.  If they get sloppy, then it's time to replace.

Well you can probably rebuild them.  If they're "practicaly brand new", then they shouldn't be sloppy.

I highly doughty that they are bad. They loss en up once in staled. The only way I can see them being worn out is if you didn't grease them.

what is it?  A Currie Johnny joint?

a Rubicon Express super flex joint? something else?

Because there a variety of brands and types out there and the deisgns are different.

if its a currie joint check to be sure the snap ring is fully seated.

I with Jon on this. Or they're missing a washer.

And to add, the only company that makes the Johnny Joint is Currie. The Johnny Joint was the brainstorm of John Currie, hence the name.

Good call on the washer.

Johnny joints are rugged.  the only issues I have seen people have is they assembled them wrong or they had a loose mounting bolt.
