New to Jeep and to Jeepz

Hey folks,
I just recently purchased a JKL 4dr jeep about a month ago. It's my first actual jeep after wanting one my whole life. Had to go with 4dr becasue i have 6 in my family. I'm finding out that it's still not even big enough, so I'm looking to put on a Gobi Rack. Looks like they are a little expensive, but they seem to be the best. I do a lot of camping and skiing so I need to be able to hook up a Thule etc. to fit everyone's gear.
I live in Medford, so my question is where is the best place to have the rack installed? I'm not the type that could do it myself, unfortunately, so any suggestions would be helpful.
Also, I need a softop, and was looking at the Bestop Trektop NX. Any thoughts or reviews on that?
Thanks for taking the time to help out...

welcome to the site, it appears your interested in the expedition side of the sport, I suggest a solid rear bumper, potentially with a rack above the spare tire and another rack that fits into a 2" reciever. this would be my first choice since it won't contribute to the poor areodynamics as much as a over head rack (and poorer milage(poorer is a word now)) on a jeep (often similar to a brick)
Good luck and keep us posted

My cj is extremely aerodynamic and gets super gas mileage with my windshield folded down. It becomes half of a brick.

my tj gets amazing gas mileage on the road... it just sits on the trailer and makes the truck do all of the work.

Thanks for the response. I'm quickly finding out about poorer milage for these puppies and yes, it's making me poorer as well. I'll start to do some research on your suggestions, any head start to sites or places to go to help would be great. From reading the forums, it looks like most of the folks here can/do all the work yourself....I just can't. I don't have the skill, intelligence or patience (or space) so I need to have a place to go to other then the closest dealer who seems to be a huge ripoff artist.
anyway thanks for the tips!
