get 33's. Your lift is more then enough to fit them, and you will want to kick your own ass in a week if you dont.

98xj wheeled with us for the first time on 31's.  the second time he had 33's  Grin  the 4th time 35's......

Well. Not all 33's are the same. Don't go over 12.5 width. I am pretty sure you'll be fine. And if not a little bump-stop will work wonders. You may want to hammer the body seem flat inside the wheel wells (door side) just in case. Do you have a body lift? Consider adding a 1 1/4" body lift - easy add and cheap. Don't go any bigger on the body lift.

Hey Mitch, you can't body lift an xj.  Smiley

33s are a common size.  If you need a full size spare a 33 is easy to find.

And 33s on 4.5" is super do able.  I ran 42s on 6.5" springs.

i dont know what you have in your axles, but at 33s, I would seriously consider regearing.  I absolutely hated driving my cherokee on 33s with the 3.55 gears...regeared to 4.88 and it was like night and day.

Make sure you set your bump stops correctly with 33s and 4.5" lift.  Your gonna need to trim a decent amount as well if you dont want to rub.  I have about 5" of lift and the tires rub the inner fender wells cause my bump stops arent set up right now.  The tires dont hit the fenders anymore cause i am trimmed a decent amount but they use to before i trimmed
