Not to jack your thread, but I am actually also looking for something very similar (could probably interest you too). I want some sort of big storage container for all of my tools that will fit in the back of my TJ, but it has to be secure and lock.
At this point, i am thinking of just getting a toolbox, throwing a padlock on it, and then a bike lock around the seat or something, but if they make one especially to fit in my Jeep that you guys know of, that would be awesome.

i used to bolt a tool box to the floor and then pad lock it. now i just use tool bags and use bungees.
as far as what to carry on the trail, id recomend going on some trail rides and finding out what you need. there is really no sense in carry stuff you don't.

Yeah, I don't know what the parking situation is like up at school and I just didn't want a bunch of kids to steal my tools
Don't know if I'll bolt it to the floor, but I'll probably just go toolbox

Large cal. Army ammo case I bought dirt cheap from a surplus store in maine 15 years ago.
Use what ever fits your needs, but make sure it is secured properly and holds it's contents is a roll over

yeah i just wanted a basic setup for now until i can fine tune it to what i actually need. i'll probably go over to harbor freight and grab a tool box and some tools for now and strap them down.
