Winch rope
« on: January 24, 2015, 10:28:32 PM »
I've had an extra synthetic rope for awhile now and I'm gonna throw it on the winch on the buggy. But my question is this....the hook at the drum on the cable has a long end on it.  What should I do with it?  If I lay it along the drum the rope won't lay flat and if I just leave it alone it flaps around when I spool in and out.   I've thought about cutting it but wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not.  What would you do....

What about tape/glue to hold it to the drum parallel to the wind direction.
Also a picture might help.

I had it on the original spyder for a few days before I sold it and I just taped it along the drum but it made the coils on the drum come very close to the cross supports for the winch.   I'll try to grab a pic of the rope later.
