I'm visiting my mom and her WJ blew the boot on the driver side outer axle shaft.

I've never worked on the WJ axles; to change it, is it as easy as un-nutting and moving the spindle, or is there a c-clip that I have to worry about..... Its a '99 with quadra-drive.

Hope all is well in the land of beans..Smiley

Remove wheel, remove caliper, remove rotor, remove unit bearing, remove axle assembly, remove CV joint from axle assembly, swap torn boot...reverse order of disassembly Grin

No c-clip to worry about Wink

I once put on one of those cheap a$$ split boots and sealed it up good. That was 6 years ago and it's still holding tight without losing grease. I did it for a quick fix but it held.
