fyi, i have broken alloy shafts in that exact way. twisted like that, alloy uas, yukon and warn (back in the day)  i believe your issue is related to running a large tire with a tiny axle  Grin

so to put 1tons I need, a full width kit, or fab it, yj springs? and misc. other crap? getting the axles ready is probably the most expensive part, rebuilding the king pins, bearings, brakes etc.

Or....just give it to jeepgod for a few weeks.  Grin

My Yukon stubs have "4340" cast into the yoke.  I would assume that if yours were alloys that they would have the same markings?

what axle does that go to?  are those factory yukon splines? That is exactly how I expect it would fail.

CJ D30, Jon.

gotcha.  so I am not not at all surprised.

the cutting looks strange on it.just the fact that there is rust on one sectiona nd it is nice and shiny on the rest.  Is it a cut down dana 44 shaft or something?

I got my axles through crown. I doubt I will have a 20 under my jeep more than a year or 2 tops.  Maybe I can afford to Jeepgodify my junk then.  If he's still tinkering.

Dana 30 and what size tire? I had 44's under mine and with the Superiors chro-molly and CTM's I broke them with 38" Interco SX's. Heavy tire and quite a few shafts. When I dropped down to the 36" IROKs, problem solved.
