Are you looking for something just to bolt up to a 4.0?  I have flexplates but not for a 90.  Why doesn't it matter auto or manual?

My flywheel is bent (4.0 auto) I wanted to convert to a stick and I was told I needed one from a stick due to differant lengths on the CPS/ placement of censors.  Well now the spot on the flywheel where the starter doesn't catch is getting on my nerves (sometimes have to crank motor over by hand to get to a differant spot on the flywheel to catch) If I get the stick i do my tranny swap, if I get the auto then at least no more popping the hood at a funeral to get it turned over >.<

I have a 1990 XJ 4.0/auto sitting here.   I dont know how hard it is to get a flex plate off...so I'll have to take a peek (The trans is already out).  If you want it, PM me and we'll work out a deal.

Just throw in a new flexplate, there's a lot less work involved doing that then switching to stick.

Twisty, its 4-6 bolts where it connects to the crank as I remember it.  With the transmission removed it should take 5-10min.

well I have all the stuff to convert the jeep to a stick except the flywheel and I was told my flywheel is actually bent. Last owner pulled the motor and must have bent it while on the motor stand. But I haven't actually taken it apart myself so I'm not sure what part can be bent.  I just know if I take it apart I need it back together asap.

Are the flywheels for the auto/manual interhangable?  Like I said...mine is an auto.  I'd take $20 for it.  Come to think of it...I think I have another one kicking around that is already pulled.  Not sure where it is though.

I was told no )can't remember by who) when I wanted to swap to a stick.  They said the CPS is a little longer on one then the other and that the contacts for it had a differant number/position on it.

NAPA has 2 different things...a flywheel and a flexplate.  I assume that the flexplate is for an auto, and a flywheel is for a manual?

It seems that what I have wont fit.  If you want to try, you're welcome to come get it...but it may not work.
