Left over fab material
«
on:
December 17, 2011, 10:04:36 PM »
So monday I will have a new toy to play with being delivered, getting a welder finally. Since my experience is limited I would like to practice on scrap metal before going onto real fab material. Anyone have anything left over? Tubing, sheet metal, heavier gauge steel (bracket thickness) etc...
free obviously is best, I dont want to spend money buying stuff to lay beads on.

I have a couple of thicker pieces laying around if you are in the Uxbridge area.

mike, exhaust tubing would work but not for laying down thick penetrating beads, though I will need to weld sheet metal too.
Helping a friend fix up an 89 YJ, this is being used to fix rear shock mounts and replace body panels. Possibly an axle swap in the future

I couldnt justify the $ on a harbor freight unit so this one will have to do.

I had to make that decision this past summer, decided on the Miller, but I'm not sure I made the right choice

just got dropped off by the big brown truck. definitely made the wrong choice, thing is a piece of garbage, looks like it wouldnt have enough power to melt plastic together. I guess I'll send it back and get the real deal from walmart.
