As everyone probably knows I have been wheeling my cj-7 for 10 years. (dana30/amc20) The jeep has been very good to me but, was starting to get to the point where it needed upgrades. so I weighed my options;
1. re-build it, witch could take a year or more and a lot of $
2. Build a completely new cj, witch could take years and a lot of $
3. Buy an already built cj, for a lot less money than the build cost, and keep wheeling.
I choose option 3. Or really, just stumbled across a nice cj-7 that really fit my needs and wants. Arizona rust free body and frame, not one tons and 40"s, still street drivable.(specs to follow)
My plan was to keep it secret till the meeting, and park it out front of the restaurant. But it was raining, and possibly snow, and I didn't want salt to get on it. so I am now letting the cat out of the bag. I now need to learn to drive again, because this cj is completely different than mine.

-
Sweet!! I'm sure you and Lynn will love this rig too! Looks really well built, and I'm glad you were able to get it. :)
-
Very Happy for you Bob, While the ol'CJ will be missed, the new one is quite impressive.
-
are those reds??
They are 37" Blue's
-
the "old" one will be fixed some, and more than likely sold. although i am emotionally attached to it.
-
very nice...congrats.
-

-

-

-
Time for some red's :-)
-
Bill Mead loved them on the turtle. Not going to be as good as the stickies, but will probably be fine. If not, put your Iroks on it!

I know a few guys running blues and they all love them. I have only see them on run them on PA trails though, which are different than New England trails. But they swear by them.
I happen to have a set of 37" reds I could possibly part with . . . . . . .
-
lol i'm outta money. i'll give them a season
-
i just read both of the links.
this is a perfect rig for you bob!
-
I thought so. ;)

I was hoping you would post something like this, new jeep looks fun!
-
how is the flat tow bar connected to the bumper? is it using the d-ring mounts?
-
basically 4 d ring mounts on the bumper. Ill never use the tow bar.
-
xtra d ring mounts are just another thing to catch on rocks and trees. less is more.
-
Nice Bob! You did it right, build a large garage, then install new toys.
-
Looks great bob! No rust must be nice.
-
How do you like those headlights?
-
I think they are stupid. especially in a lifted jeep, I blind everyone. lol
-
old cj's crawl ratio=54.80, new cj's crawl ratio=137.46
-
nice!! that is low
I am at 112 to 1
-
Can't wait to wheel with you and the new CJ!
-
x2
-
We should wheel it before it gets too warm bob :-)
-
too warm? lol
-
we should do a easier trail like gremlin graveyard
-
so i can learn it? lol I can't wait!
-
I'm waiting for warmer weather to bring mine back out. Still haven't figured out a roof for it
-
That is a well built, but yet simple, bad ass rig. Nice grab.
-
i can't wait for the wheeling season
-

-

-
Are you looking to unload those headlights?

Bob you cant get rid of the old family truckster! that doesn't become a handme down?
Can you handme it down to me please?
:burnout:
-
told ya the headlights are a hot item
-
had it out a few times so far this season. I am getting used to it. figuring out which gear to use, how much throttle etc. it is doing well. a little unloading in the front, Bluerocket suggested a limiting strap in the center. we will see. I'll keep wheeling and learning it. oh yea, the radiator has a small leak, gotta pull it out and fix it. very happy though!

8)
-
Drill out the pins to make the windshield easy to remove
-
Weld a d-ring tab to the axle and use your winch. Simpler and can be used to suck the front down and gain traction or balance.
-
ye, and yes
