Title: Gutter trail concern info Post by: Axle on April 21, 2009, 05:18:34 PM Due to environmental concerns the NEA4WDC is suggesting that its 26 member clubs refrain from traveling a certain trail at Rattlesnake Gutter. This trail is located off the powerline trail and is the first trail entrance that breaks East off the powerline, there is an old snomobile bridge marking the entrance of this trail. The specific reason we are suggesting people not travel this trail is on account of the severe amount of mud and trail widening/braiding that has occured in attempts to get around the muddy section.
Please understand that this suggestion is for this one trail section only, other trail sections are open for use. Please also understand that this is private land open for public use. The NEA4WDC has no legal right to impose closures on this land, we can only make suggestions to our members who benefit from using the land, hoping they abide by this in order to minimize environmental impacts and keep the trails open for many years to come. This is a temporary closure, we are actively working on a plan to remedy the environmental concerns and re-open the trail as soon as we can. If you would like to be involved in working on this or any other aspect of what the NEA4WDC does, please contact your club delegate and they can point you in the right direction. Sincerely, Scott Hatch, Exec. VP of Environmental Affairs NEA4WDC Title: Re: Gutter trail concern info Post by: Ian on April 21, 2009, 05:36:58 PM thanks bob.

Title: Re: Gutter trail concern info Post by: Twisty on April 21, 2009, 08:26:57 PM Ian, its the place the looks like the Bone Yard, but 100x worse (mud wise).
I'm glad the area is "off limits." The mud there is terrible, and there is only 1 challenging part on that loop.
