Title: leaf spring slider boxes
Post by: Axle on July 23, 2015, 02:29:24 PM
I would love to lower my CJ a couple inches, this looks like a simple way to do it. however I would be a little concerned with the spring not being allowed to twist. opinions? seems like its been around for a while, but i never heard of it till now.

I like the idea bob, thats very cool.    Twisting I don't think will be an issue at all, but thats only my opinion no experience with them.
Wonder if this would let me run a spring over configuration on my jeep.

I agree with Bobby regarding the twisting, also  virtually eliminates bent springs.  As it relates to soa and eliminating spring  wrap, I do not believe these offer any benefit.

I was thinking they could let me maybe get a bit lower doing soa.   but now i think about it a shackle mounted in the frame likely gets me a very similar height.

Bob -  these will also change your alignment in the front (as you go lower the axcle rotates), just a thought.

I know Toyota guys have been using them for awhile.  I see them used quite a bit over on pirate but I have heard the slider bushings wear out rather quickly.

why do you want it lower ?

lots of people say my jeep is too tall and I should lower it. my jeep is very stable and hardly ever feels tippy

if its a look thing but bigger tires on it  ;D

On steep climbs though, it looks like your front end gets a little light.

Hope you're bringing the CJ to the bbq, rich!  I will have my spare too. ;D

Does it feel tippy when it's rolling over on its side in protest of your driving?   :-)
