Title: The RuffStuff Diff Cover!
Post by: Dan Fredrickson on November 07, 2012, 02:27:04 PM
We have been selling these for over 5 years now here and elsewhere on the net, but our website is where you want to be.

This is one of the covers we have given away but it looks so good powdercoated that I think it will be our official advertising cover! Next to it is a sample of the Kit so you can really see how thick they are!

Someone asked me about the added weight? They wanted to know about the added weight of the 3/8" material.....

Well, there are several answers to that question

#1 - It is only 2-4lbs over a 1/4" cover
#2 - It is not Rotating weight
#3 - It is Un-sprung weight
#4 - Possibly the best answer in the era of top heavy vehicles, It is adding weight to the lowest portion of your vehicle!

Plus the peace of mind knowing you have the strongest cover made out there protecting your gears and lockers.....

Our diff Covers pretty much speak for themselves. But here are a few important points to consider when purchasing a differential cover......

#1 - Real Thickness before you start paying more for additional thickness. Our Covers are ALL 3/8" thick at no extra cost to you. No other manufacturer uses 3/8" plate.

#2 - Materials they are made of. ALL of our covers are made of A50 (536) plate steel, it costs' about .07-.10 more per pound but the additional strength is worth it.

#3 - Fill plug placement. We put the fill plug in the area you want it to be so you can easily check the fluid level. It is above the stock plug position but not so high so as to allow overfilling. Overfilling will just blow out seals, don't do it!

#4 - Finish Machining. We all know that when steel is heated it moves, there is no changing that no matter how well it is jigged. We ALWAYS machine our covers flat after welding. No other manufacturer does this and Any Welder with any experience can tell you that steel moves no matter how well it is tied down!

#5 - Welding. All of our Differential Covers are welded inside and out, yes, that doubles the time spent welding them, a cost other companies don't care to spend. We do it to insure absolute strength. Remember, any welder can have a bad day so welded twice makes way too much sense to not do.

#6 - Fair priced options that make sense. Our Drainplug is in the most protected area of the cover, not in the bottom of the ring which is the first place you hit. It cost's $5, no reason it should cost more. The Countersunk holes are only $10 and come with the special bolts. And at 3/8" thick we don't have to add anymore to get a bombproof cover!

#7 - Shipping Cost We use USPS for the method of shipping on our covers.  They have flat rate boxes and it is a lot cheaper this way.

#8 - The Texas 4x4 10% discount. It just makes a good deal better.

#9 - Variety. We make 10 different covers and are adding more all the time, we want to be your cover manufacturer! 14 Bolt, D70, D60, D44, D35, D30, Ford 8.8, Chrysler 8.25, Ford Sterling, Dodge 9.25 are available now, lots more still on the design table!

#10 - Guarantee. Our Differential covers & all of our products have Always had an Unconditional Full Guarantee! We don't have to say no BS, there isn't any.....

#11 - Fit. Our covers fit every stock steering assembly made and we have not run into an aftermarket setup it dosen't fit either. Our covers are made to fit very close to stock specs to retain their positive oiling qualities.

All of the Diff Rings can be purchased separately also.
