its a simple risk vs reward. There is a lot of risk and little reward.
it costs a lot, has a bunch of extra parts to break, adds a whole level of complexity to setup properly (alignment becomes a nightmare) can be very dangerous at speed, adds a bunch of unsprung weight (HORRIBLE for suspension tuning.)
for what? a little bit better mobility? there are no cones to dodge or points to avoid.
I know of two successful go fast rigs with rear steer. Both of them either have built or are building another one that does NOT have it.
