I need to buy new tires and i usually faithfully buy bfg at's.

Does anyone use these tires on a daily driver jeep?

I am looking into a 315/75r16 size.

i ran them on my old tacoma that i had before i came back to the jeep world.  they weren't the same size but i loved them.  they were easy to balance, drove great on the road.  where loader than a normal street tire and had a small amount of wander.  offroad, they performed awesome.  i never had them in rocks, just basic fireroad trails.  they handled the snow amazing, by far the best tires ive owner for snow.  ive heard that they have weak sidewalls but i never experienced any issues with them.  if they made them in 37's, id probably buy another set.  but i will definately buy another set for my tow rig, when i eventually get one.

im pretty sure both jerry and dave have them on their tow rigs as well.

i don't know if you noticed, but im selling my old set.  they are for 17's but just thought id throw that out there.

i run 285s on my 2500hd they didn't make a e rated one but its rated for 3300 pounds. the snow and wet grass traction is great. but they are a Little soft for towing and will wear quick. i also have a set on Sharlene's lj 33 12.50s and it drives good but due to the tread they are still a Little spongy compared to the bfg a/ts. i would buy another set.

also i hear the sidewalls are a little weak.

i like them so far...also McRanger has a set on his F-350 too

TOYOS!
HEAVY - yes - but worth it.
BALANCE - we very often balance these up to 37" with an absolute minimum amount of weight, it is crazy ridiculous.
ON ROAD - fine, long life, no issues at all
OFF ROAD - EXCELLENT, one of the best radials you can possibly use

We're using AT2 AllTerain on our trucks here, and recommend the heck out of the Toyos, because they are THAT impressive.  For off road (including towing) the M/T is a fine choice, too.

We sell Goodyear Duratracs, too, but we prefer to see our customers on Toyos these days.

I run the same size duratracs as Dave on same size truck. The snow and wet grass traction is great. but they are a Little soft for towing and will wear quick. I got 35K with religous tire pressure monitoring and rotation. I would buy them for a dd Jeep but not for a tow rig. I'm going with Cooper AT3's for my next set. Getting installed tomorrow.

I'll be going with retreads because I drive very little and am cheap.

I will be running duratrac's on my truck in a matter of days. 285-75-R16. Looks like the make them load range E now.

I would not run them on a trail rig though.

I'll have 2 Duratracs  285/75/r16 Load Range E with good tread (~1/4" tread remaining evenly worn) available tomorrow. $50 ea. Other two are shot from bad tierods/alignment issues.

Casey, the duratrac is a good tire that tends to blur the line between an all terrain and a mud terrain. It gets lots of good reviews from what I have read. I run 315's on my f-350, and Paula runs 31's on her xj. I wanted to put a set of 315's on my xj but at the time I could only get them in e-load and I felt they would be too stiff for my cherokee. Just make sure whatever tire you buy has the proper load rating for your rig, you want to be able air down and get a nice contact patch when your on the trail.

Exactly Jerry - here is my problem:

I want to run 35's on my TJ, so I want a load range c tire.

I want to run Rubicon wheels with 1.25" spacers.

I want to run an M/T that isn't horrible in the snow or rain. I think my BFG M/T's are a horrible street tire.

I don't think I can make this happen really.

I don't think you can find load range c for anything except 15" wheels.

When it comes to traction in the snow/rain then siping is the name of the game. I'm talking mainly road/highway conditions with packed snow. Bushwacking through 2'-3' is a different story. There are very few mud tires that have much siping. BFG MT's don't have any. Goodyear MT/R's have some. Super Swamper TrXus have some.

I've been running Maxxis Bighorns for the last couple seasons in size 305-70R16 load range d and have been very pleased.  The price is very competitive.  I believe they make 315's which are about 35". Give them a look.

Former boss runs them on his hunting suburban. Had BFG AT and MT before. Go with the duratraks
