on board air
« on: October 08, 2010, 12:10:32 AM »
well i finally got on board air setup in my truck, I decided to go with the Air Zenith ob2 pump rated to 200PSI. supposedly the pump is 100% duty cycle. which is nice.
I would have to say, after installing a few different compressor kits and air springs etc, this compresor is by far one of the quieter pumps I have seen. also it pretty much comes pre wired, it looks very clean. I wired it with a 70A fuse up by the battery and ran #6 AWG battery wire down the frame rail to the pump mounted behind the reciever hitch.
the pump took about 5 minutes to pump 200PSI into a 10 gallon tank, A nice feature is it has a little cooling fan on it so it stayed pretty cool. its a little bit bigger than some of the Viar units but not by much.and the best is i can't even hear it come on if the truck is running.

If you had to compare it to a york, how would you rate it on a scale of 1-10 with a York 201R being a 5.

Re-visiting this.
so the pump has completely stopped pumping air.
I have removed it and I'm not so impressed with the way it has weathered time.
I have a call into AZ to see what they can do, it does have a 2 year warranty. hopefully they can pull through
that is all.
