my front locker air line had a small hissing to it, the last time i used it.  so i traced the leak to a small hole in the air line.  removed and got a new line, but now im having issues.  the old line had the compression nut, and then inside around the outside of the hose a small donut and then a needle inside the line that compressed against the other side of the fitting on the diff.  (i hope that makes sense to someone)  the problem is i can't get the old donut around the new airline. help??

the line im using is the extra arb line that came with the locker, so i know its the correct diameter.

they do, its 5mm   im using a standard one but it fit the same so we'll see.  i just ordered a couple 5mm fittings so once i get them ill replace the whole fitting on the diff.  but for now atleast i can drive the jeep without fluid pissing out the hole.

so that brings up a question, when i replaced the air line there was gear oil inside.  obviously it came from inside the diff, but how??

Could it be compressor oil?

I'm leaning that way, or I was thinking the metal line inside the diff has a small pin hole.  I haven't taken the cover off yet to investigate.

so my quick fix worked flawlessly this past weekend.  but when i tear it apart in a couple days to put the correct fittings in, id like to address the other problem im having that ive been fighting since i bought the jeep...how to secure the airline to the control arm.  originally it was just ziptied and it works, but i would break the zipties just about every trip out.  so when i did my quick fix the other day and ran all new airlines, i covered the front line with a piece of 1/4 fuel hose for added abrasion resistance and ditched the zipties in favor of a couple hose clamps.  well yesterday instead of breaking the zipties when i drag my lower control arm over rocks/trees it just pulled the hose clamp up the arm causing the air line to pull extremely tight at the pumpkin and pinched the hose?  suggests on how i can secure them better??

and before anybody says it, i have no choice but to run it on my lower control arm cause i have radius arms in the front.

Secure it using cable clamps with rubber cushions, pretty easy and effective

Google it if you don't know what I mean.  Posting from my iPhone so can't link to a picture
