"performance" mods are a waste IMO, unless you want some sound. Intakes, TB spacers, etc all a waste for how much it costs vs how much hp you gain.

How much are you willing to spend and cut into the body? Is it awd or 4wd? Need a little more info. If it's stock, start with the minimum items you need to get into the club, recovery points etc. Budget boost are good lifts for cheap money. A 2-3" budget boost, new shocks and some bigger/more aggressive tires will work. See if you can find a rubicon takeoff (rims and tires) set, they'll bolt on and find a lift to make them fit.

WJ? Hmm first make sure you don't care about your lights and body panels.
If you cant get over that start with making it an even heavier truck than it already is and add protection.
To wheel and comfortably fit 33" under those WJs i believe theres a substantial amount of work to be done, but it your ok with 31" tires start with a small budget lift kit and shocks. stick with 15-16" wheels and research the offset you may need,(i don't know). but refrain from buying a bunch of junk you dont need and save for the additional unseen things that will show face once the lift is installed. like steering upgrades, ball joints, brake lines, drive shafts, etc.

try 4wd.com or quadratec.com or one of the box store websites like that. usually the best deals depend on what shipping deals each company has at any given time.
always google search for coupons before you order anything.

All depends on what your end goal is. regardless of how balls to the walls you want to be, I'd start with bumpers, winch and rock rails.

After that depending on what you want to run for a tire, look at axle upgrades/replacement and lockers.

We offer a 2" budget boost lift & wheel spacers if you're looking for them, send me a pm and I'll get you a quote.

If you're looking to go higher, try Elias4wd for kits.

If you're not local to them, a lot of my customers talk about www.kevinsoffroad.com/   & http://ironrockoffroad.com/ for WJ stuff.
Please spread the word to all local Jeepers!!

I would change over to akebono brakes if you have not already done so.

I second kevins offroad, always liked his kits for the ZJ, just havent been able to spring for them.  But he has built some very capable Zjs and Wjs.  Just plan on spending it all in one place, unless of course money is no object, in which case, ill take one of everything when you place your order.    :woot:

already switched out to akebono,a must. i put stock wrangler rims and tires,w a crown bb and wheel spacers, still rubs after a lot of trimming. particularly when in reverse turning. what about gas mileage(cold air intakes)?
exhaust mods?  also put in 4  bilstiens . Thanks I appreciate the input

cold air intakes and exhaust are useless. believe me, i've had it all.

exhaust for sound or unless you need to replace something. Make sure it's tuned up and has a clean air filter, thats the most out of gas milage (next to putting stock tires back on) that you'll get

lifted truck and good gas milage are not terms heard together.  engine bolt on, like montioned, are not worth the dollars you wil spend.  Think gearing.  If you up size your tires, adjust your axle gearing to match as close to factory as you can to keep the engine in it's opitmal power range.  If you do not care about that and offroading ability is truely what your after, gear it as deep as you can.
