I have no clue as to why? I had just installed my power steering pump and i started it up, fired right up!
Smelled burning rubber, turned it off and saw the belt was smoking at the alternators pully.
I found out the alternator was stuck and tried to see if i could get it unstuck by turning the alternator pully..
And now the motor wont even turn!  Huh

may sound silly but is the belt on right? could have been running the alt in wrong direction. maybe burnt it up?

does it crank if you jump it with a good battery?

I do know the belt is on right, its a '94 i6.
And i actually had the battery hooked up to a charger and i tested the battery and it was good and fully charged.
Im gunna test the starter but im pretty sure thats good.

Make sure all pullies move?  I'd put a breaker bar on the crank bolt and make sure it spins.

I had this problem on two 4.0s.  Your alternator is probably seized.  Remove the belt, and see of the engine spins.  Replace if necessary.

Ok guys so now i need some serious help on my jeep!
I replaced the alternator, tried to start my jeep and all it would do is turn, wouldnt start. Checked my spark plugs and saw no spark at all. So i replaced my ignition coil. Tried it again. Still would not start!
Checked  for a spark again and there was still none! And i checked my distributor and that seemed alright. The center tip was black in the middle though. I also checked the pressure in my fuel rail, and there was no pressure..
What the  Censored is going wrong?! Can some one please help me?
