Hey everyone,  I am looking for a transfer case for a 1998 Wrangler Sahara. It is the I6 with Automatic transmission. the tag says 231 J with the 272 ratio. Im also wondering if one out of the standard transmission model would work?

thanks - josh

you need a 23 spline short shaft.   need to find another automatic it seems.  or buy my 231 with a 21 spline and and change it over.

www.car-part.com

You can find them for as little as $150. Sometime even less at a pick-n-pull yard.
