No plans to wheel it.. that is what the CJ is for.  The most it will be in for is some Class 6 roads or hauling some wood from the Boneyard...   It may get some towing duty as well so it is nice that it already has a HD trans cooler and shift kit installed.

Ok.... I moved this topic to Tech as I will try to update it as I work on the J10.

So far I have just beed doing little stuff and a little body work.  I removed the OBA tank from the bed becaue I am going to do a much smaller tank on the frame out of sight.  

The biggest thing that I recently finished that was a relif was the installation of a bench seat.  The off-road bucket seats that were in there were ok when you were in them, but a realpain to get in and out and I wanted a bench.  It turns out luck was on my side and Jeff down a Crown (Thanks Jeff!!!) had an extra bench seat that he was willing to part with.

I had to cut down the stock frame and weld on my own mounting brackets but the fit is perfect.  It went in and out a number of times to make sure I had the height just right.  It is now all bolted down and even folds forward so I can store some stuff behind it.






I have a few more small updates to post when I get a chance but I will try to keep this going (Don't expect and Project 5 build thread here........ but I'll do my best..)

I like that Kent.  Buckets have there place but a Bench like that in a J10 is where it's at.  Looks great and versitile.  Great that you post what you do.  Not many Jeep builds like yours on here.

Fabric color works well with the interior. Are the center seat belts anchored to the bench or floor?

Glad it worked out! The best part of the seat is that it was free, and the second best part is that it had never been sat in before so it's as good as new. Nicely done!

Thanks for the comments.... I am having fun just picking away at the little stuff now.

Posi - All the belts are bolted to the cab in their factory locations.  The mounts are just for the seat itself and I used 3/16" plate which was thicker than the stock so I sould be more than good there.  There is also a center set.

I also ditched the custom bumper that came with the truck for a stock unit.  It actually was a pretty decent bumper and had nice 1/2" plate that ran down the frame and made D-Rings.  It worked well for jacking the front end with the Hi-Lift.  I think I have a buyer for it so off it goes.  


Thanks to Bob for grabbing the Alum bumper (NEJ Express from RI) and after a quick buff with a powerball here it is.  
Guess you can tell what color I'm going with the truck for now.......

A little project update as I knock off some items on the "to do" list.

I got the exhaust done last weekend.  I ditched the thin rusted headers for a set of the stock manifolds that flow pretty well.  I coated those and bolted them on.  Then it went up to see Jay... this guy is awesome!

System: 2.5" run from each of the stock manifolds to a Magnaflow 22" stainless muffler with a 3" piple that dumps in the stock location.  It is nice and low at idle and just rumbles a bit under light load.  When you really lean on it.... she speaks up

jealous on your bumper! Wish I had a nice stocker..mine had the ends cut off so I just painted it black and added a factory brushguard from a Honcho.

Shoot me a pm on where you had the exhaust done & how much...I was going to go local when I get to that point but that looks well done.
