As some of you may know over the past year or two I have been off and on looking at M715s.  Although I think they are the meanest looking FSJ out there, I finally decided with the gearing in the axles, overall size, and the powerplant, I would be best suited with something else for my next project.  So… the search for a right J10 started.

Without too much of a long story here is my next project.  It was acquired about a week or so ago after a leisurely 14 hour drive to PA and back on a Saturday with Brett.  The PO was into Jeeps and drag cars and did most of the upgrades himself and seems to have done really nice work.  She runs very strong and there was a lot of little things done (new calipers up front, axles seals, etc) that made me confident he took care of his toys.
 
I will start build/resto  thread(or Modify this one) to cover the overall plans and progress for this rig but below are a few details and photos of what I’m starting with.

She's a beaut! More than great starting point...we should have a FSJ meet one of these days if mine ever is on the road.  OT - Thanks again, Chuck, for the seats!

I have a painted black gladiator grille I didn't end up using w/ headlamp rings if you're interested. Swing it by the store sometime!  ;D

Thanks for the comments guys.  I am having a blast with this one so far.  It is fun to just clean it out, fix some little things (eg. dome light) and do some basic maintence.  She runs great and I think it has a cam in it as well.  I am trying to learn all I can about 360s.

She is solid but a little dented.  I shot her better side and she spent some time a Paragon and other wheeling sites in the 3 years the PO had her.  I will be focusing on the body and then on some smaller upgrades for now.  The OBA set up is pretty sweet but I certainly don't need the 6+ gal tank mounted in the bed.  Since the system is already there I am definitly going to keep it but I am going to do something similar to what I have in the CJ with a tank mound under on frame. 

I like the Rino grille and was thinking of going that way but decided that I like the Razor (the current one) the best.  One of my first things is going to be to swap in a bench seat.  I have a hitch for the back so I can tow if needed.

No need for 1 tons but I could always put in a D60 from a J20 if I wanted.  It is currently geared 3.54 which works well with the 32s.

I'll post up more as I get into it..... for now I am just lovin the rumble of the V8.

I just picked up a hood bar for $20 which bollts on the hood and closes the gap for this grille set up.  Pic below.

Any plans to wheel it?  I'd hate to see the bed trashed, and dented to shyt.  I can tell you from experience...that truck beds do not last long in the woods.  ::)
