bestop seat question
« on: June 15, 2010, 09:50:04 AM »
just got off the phone with bestop and still can't get a solid answer.
does anyone know for certain whether my cj seat are BLACK DENIM OR BLACK CRUSH.

there has to be 1000 pics of my jeep on here if you don't recall as I can't post one right this minute as I have no jeep and no computer in front of me.

I bought them new 7 years ago and I know they are the standard trailmax II seats but can't recall what I got.  In the pics on the web they look the same.  Mine are the black vinyl but the represenetative from bestop told me they look similar and are both blackvinyl.  Trying to order a replacement for my drivers side with no luck here.

lmk if ya know

Black denim is a stronger material than the vinyl/pleather (black crush). The denim is a woven fabric black at night and dark gray in sunlight. The black crush is shiny black.

Hope this helps.

Black crush is darker than the black denim. Black denim is, of course, usually the denim material with lighter flecks of gray/denim clearly visible in the fabric...where as the black crush, in my experiences, is the shiny deep black vinyl material that was typically seen on soft tops & tire covers. Very different materials. Hope that helps.

If it doesn't, I'll see if I can find any of your pics and better identify it for you.

ooh looks like Posi beat me to the punch while typing my response.

no customer service department was no help.  Couldn't even ship me a small sample of each even when I offered to send postage first.  Judging by what chuck has said I am more ap to believe my seats are the crush material.  I am now on a comp so I will post up a pick if I can find with the seats in it.

yeah they are :D  When your son thinks its a good idea to armor all Dads seats as a nice jesture.  Damn near killed me that day.  I had to wash them off :D so I remember exactly what your talking about that day at the boneyard.

I can just imagine how slippery those seats were after the armor all, my ex once used the armor all protector on my leather seats in my exploder some years back, took a tight turn and thought the seat belt was going to rip me in half...stuffs dangerous , heh
yayyyy it has 4x4
